A New Year With New Possibilities

What a whirlwind 2020 became! Who knew that something so small could cause so much devastation globally. People losing lives, economies tanking and small businesses closing their doors, it was definitely a year for the history books.

However, the quarantine also gave some the opportunity to come up with new and exciting plans to grow. For me, this was creating a dedicated site for my boudoir side of the business. Beyond that, it has also allowed me to take on more boudoir business and hone the workflows and take my photography skills to the next level. My question to you is this: What positive things have happened to you during 2020?

I know this sounds like a silly question, but there is ALWAYS something positive in our lives every day, we just need to be able to see it. Take this example:

A mother of three has been home most of quarantine. She has heard her kids begging to see their friends, trying to keep up with things around the home, managing the family. However, in one moment she hears one of her children’s say to her, “Mommy, you are really pretty!” How do you thing she takes that? To some, they would shy away and not believe her child. However, there is say saying that “there is truth in innocence” and that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Both of these phrases should resonate with all of us.

Children, especially very young kids, do not comprehend all of the social stigmas that we adults see and hear every day. they see things as THEY see them. There is truth in their words at moments like this.

The second phrase, simply put, means to say to yourself, “I am beautiful.” Sure, it can be easier said than done. However it is something that we need to all hear and believe. There are so many body types out there and ALL are beautiful. It is amazing the number of women that tell me that they feel ugly because they have stretch marks, their butts are too big, their boobs aren’t perky and even they don’t like how their feet look. I’m here to tell you that ALL OF YOU IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Every one of those features is a part of your life and a part of you. Don’t let society drag you down. It may be a battle, but fight hard because, another quote says, “Your body is the only thing that has been with you through it all. Love it for everything it is!”

You need to embrace the YOU that you are. Don’t try to be someone you are not (unless you are going for a role-play thing!). Let your body speak to who you are. Once I’m you overcome that fear, your true image will come through.

So, my challenge to you is this: Be kind to yourself and love YOU! For 2021, try some of these to boost yourself confidence:

  • look in the mirror in the morning and evening and tell yourself TO YOUR EYES that you are a beautiful, sexy woman.

  • Buy a new outfit that accentuates something you love about you

  • Ask a friend if you are beautiful. (You will be surprised at the number of, “”OMG, YES!” That you will get

  • Go for a walk in nature or just drive to a park and look at the beauty around you. Just seeing beauty in nature will help you appreciate you even more.

  • Most importantly, trust your partner when they tell you that you look beautiful.

When you start feeling the love for yourself, you will discover that you will have more confidence than ever. A new, more radiant woman will appear that you will love. She will love who she is and know that no one can tell her otherwise. THAT is something worth celebrating.
