The Boudoir Process

The Big First Step

As with anything we do, we need to take that first step. In this case, it is filling out the Boudoir Client Questionnaire. This will give me a rough idea of what you are looking for and maybe get some preliminary ideas flowing. At this point, I will get the estimate for your shoot together so we can discuss the details.

The Initial Meet-up

After looking at your information, I will schedule an in-person meet-up with you. This will give us an opportunity to meet each other as well as to go over your information and get into the details of the shoot talking typical workflow for me as well as talk to you about outfits that you would be bringing. Essentially, this is a time fore us to collaborate together on what you would like to see. At the end of our discussion, I will go over the photography contract with you and see if you have any other questions.

Ideas Galore!

One of the most exciting parts of this process is generating ideas for each client. We will do this through a shared (private) Pinterest board as well as possible text messages to start generating ideas. They could be poses or outfits that you like or just general ideas you have in mind. Go wild here as it is much easier to go into a shoot with too many ideas and outfits than too few. Over the following weeks, we will stay in touch to answer any questions, share ideas and just generally pump up the excitement for your shoot!

The Photoshoot

The time is now here and I’m sure you have a mix of nerves and excitement rolling. When we meet up, I will have my female assistant with me and we will go through all of the next few hours with you, step by step. We will do a quick tour to get additional ideas flowing for poses, lenses to use and flash locations. We will also take a look at the outfits you brought and select a few that we feel would work great. If there is anything special that you want to make sure is included in the shoot like an outfit, football or other prop, let is know then. If you have hair and makeup being done, we will have you get started while we set up our lights and go over a detailed plan for you. Then it is on to the shooting. We will guide you into positions and my assistant will fix any clothing or hair that strays. Over the next few hours, we will have a great time, talking and laughing as you feel yourself more at ease with yourself. almost immediately, you will feel that sense of confidence building.

Post Processing

After your shoot is complete, it is time for me to make sure that each and every image of your shoot is reviewed and that you receive only the best-of-the-best images. I will clear up any blemishes, adjust lighting and add some artistic flair to some of your images to ensure they are of the best quality for you. This process can take some time so as difficult as it may be, patience is the key here. I only want to deliver the best images to you so I will make sure that yours are spot on!

The Reveal

Out of the entire process (which I LOVE by the way), this is my absolute favorite! This is the moment that you will get to see, first hand, the absolute confidence builder. You and I will get together again and I will show you your image set. This will make you well up with excitement and inspiration and give you such a confidence boost! The images that are displayed are of YOU. Not a model, not another woman, but YOU. It may be hard to believe, but with the reveal, you come away feeling like a new woman. You are more confident, more vibrant and have such a positivity about you! This is the moment that will make you want to show your friends and tell them, “THIS IS ME!!!!” Trust me, you will not regret it!!!
